Storks in Tounfite.

Old Or Mohamed Ait Ali Bassou Or Brahim told me that formerly the storks came in large numbers Tounfite, but every year their number has declined. Today, only two are coming home for the summer. They have a nest. People do not know why they left this country.
One day last winter a terrible wind knocked their nest on a tree that was before the slaughter. As people are fond of Tounfite storks, butchers handed the nest on the tree, but not as it was the first time. Storks rebuilt a new nest in Ksar of Ait Abdi. But this winter, someone cut the tree, and when they return Jan. 21, they resumed their first nest of the great Ksar
... Here is what tells the storks Tounfite:
There once was a woman who was milking his cow near the mosque where sheriffs were tolbas their prayer. The devil led him to bathe in milk. They asked the good woman.
religion forbids wasting the milk.
the morning early, the locals tried but they found that the birds they had never seen. People understood that it was the sheriffs tolbas who had committed the sin and that God had punished them by changing them into birds. They called these birds storks (Bellarj). Since that time, they remain in the country during the summer, while on the autumn day, they go to warm countries unknown. There, they resume their human form they retain a part of the winter.

Text written by Moulay Idriss, a pupil at the school Tounfite in 1953 - "From a booklet written by students in Muslim schools in the region of Meknes"

I want to thank my good friend Maxime Rousselle Ex doctor Tounfite Itzer and for sending the booklet (the stork in the Moroccan folklore) from which this text is drawn.
